Our Fort Hills Non Producing Assets Team is looking for an experienced coordinator to join our team You will be accountable to ensure that the fire alarm, firewater, fire suppression systems and other industrial utility assets are maintained, operated, and designed in accordance with all National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), building, and our standards. You will work closely with a diverse group to influence decisions regarding the optimization and reliability of the site’s fire systems.
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum of five years of experience working in mining, oil and gas or a similar industrial environment including two or more years of supervisory experience, contractor management or trade related experience
- A trade certificate in any core trade, diploma or degree in a relevant technical field (engineering or equivalent operational experience
- High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
- Possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
- Strong knowledge and understanding of fire systems codes and regulations
- Deep understanding of contract management
- Exhibit competency in the use of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, SAP and Adobe preferred
- Possess strong communication skills, and the ability to develop working relationships with diverse groups
- Business minded with strong judgment, decision-making and analytical skills
- You collaborate with others in order to achieve the best results and deliver the most value, through strong leadership and communication skills
**Responsibilities**:
- Coordinate the on-the-ground delivery of predictive and preventative maintenance plans to maximize asset longevity and efficiency
- Track and monitor key performance indicators, report any deviation from targets, implement corrective actions and work effectively with the team to drive improvements
- Assist in the development of business plans to reliably meet or exceed performance expectations in safety, environment, cost and productivity in non-production facilities
- Ensure compliance to all relevant regulatory requirements (NFPA, underwriters lab Canada, fire code and building codes) and Suncor policies and standards, including the management of change (MoC) and business processes
- Conduct incident investigations, ensure investigation identifies root cause of actual and potential events causing production loss, worker injury or environmental incident
- Safely execute all planned maintenance work within scope and troubleshoot equipment failures, working hand-in-hand with the reliability group to identify root cause failures
- Perform regular inspections of contractor's work to ensure procedures and standards are being followed, including Suncor’s environment, health and safety (EH&S) policies
- Use a continuous improvement mindset to ensure maintenance programs are accurate and effective
Location and other Key Details:
- This position has been identified as safety sensitive
- You will work out of our camp-based Fort Hills mining site, located in Alberta’s Athabasca region, 90 kilometers north of Fort McMurray, Alberta
- You will work a 7 days on / 7 days off rotation
