**Position: Controller**

**Overview**:
**Responsibilities**:

- Manage the finance team supporting the AR and AP functions.
- Establish and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls for the finance function.
- Responsibility for the company’s Information Systems and look for opportunities to streamline and integrate information management within the company.
- Train staff to execute the accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Review AP and AR transactions for accuracy and timeliness.
- Review all GL and subledger reports and reconciliations.
- Manage inventory positions and valuation.
- Manage and report on cash positions and transactions and the processing of weekly cheque runs.
- Provide monthly reports, analysis, KPI’s, and financial statements for management purposes.
- Provide financial and cash forecasts for management.
- Manage all tax collection, submission and reporting activities for accuracy and timeliness.
- Manage capital asset accounts and assist management with capital purchases analysis.
- Provide year-end financial reports and analysis for the company’s external accountants and owners.
- Other duties as required.

**Requirements**:
We are looking for a hands-on financial leader that would be able to demonstrate:

- The Controller will possess a recognized Canadian accounting designation, CPA (CA, CGA CMA) and experience in material processing industries.
- Experience in supervising a team.
- A hard worker and willing to learn new skills.
- Demonstrates excellent time management skills and to meet deadlines.
- Have excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Able to establish and maintain positive working relationships.
- Knowledgeable in MS Office, advanced excel and willing to learn new skills and software.
- Experience with Quickbooks is an asset.

**Education**:

- Bachelor's Degree (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Accounting: 1 year (preferred)
