**The Opportunity**:
The City of Red Deer is currently recruiting for a **Financial Services Clerk**. The Financial Services Clerk is responsible for processing all types of accounts payable invoices accurately and within payment terms utilizing integrated financial software. Responsible for recording capital asset transactions. Performs monthly and year end tasks including vendor statement and account reconciliations. Provides high quality customer service to internal and external customers.
- Completion of a 2-year Business Administration Diploma with a major in accounting.
- One year accounting experience in an integrated computerized environment, performing accounts payable duties and fixed asset duties.
- Ability to understand and follow detailed accounts payable procedures and asset accounting accurately.
- Ability to process a high volume of information accurately within tight deadlines.
- Detailed knowledge and understanding of relevant policy and procedures and legislation.
- Ability to work in a team setting, including strong decision-making skills.
- Knowledge of JD Edwards financial system would be an asset.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.).
- Strong communication skills to deal with vendors and employees in conflict situations to resolve problems relating to invoices, payments, signing authorities, etc. (Note: may include senior ranking staff).
- Ability to deliver presentations and training information to large audiences.

$36.45 to $38.37 per hour
**Hours of Work**:
75 hours biweekly; Monday to Friday; some evening and weekend work may be required when needed.
