Job description
- The primary focus of the maintenance technician is to support the manufacturing operations by maintaining all machines, equipment and relevant building systems
- Support other departments to achieve plant production goals

Job Summary
- Performs reactive, predictive and preventative maintenance within the facility including but not limited to lubrication, inspections and repairs
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical, controls, mechanical, robotics, pneumatic, hydraulic and various building systems/equipment
- Use wiring diagrams, layout drawings, and engineering specifications for systems or equipment modifications or expansions
- Other duties may be assigned as business necessitates.
- Abide by and ensure plant personnel are following all GMPs, Personal Safety, Food Safety, HACCP, and SQF Rules. Adheres to the Baldinger-Sons Code of Conduct.
- Reflect the Vision and Mission of Baldinger-Sons Bakery by demonstrating teamwork, respect, professionalism in the workplace.
- Demonstrates the willingness to learn as part of the organization’s continuous improvement process.
- Works in a safe manner and promptly reports hazards identified in the work environment.

Physical Requirements
- Able to stand for up to 12 hours, while working with and around machinery
- Able to stoop, bend and crouch on a regular basis
- Able to lift 60 lbs once per hour and lifting 10 - 50 lbs on a regular basis
- Working from heights, using ladders
- Work rotating shifts - days/nights

Required Education, Skills and Preferred Qualifications
- Journeyman Electrician in Alberta (Red Seal Asset)
- Electrical & Mechanical skills/experience with blowers, pneumatics, conveyors, air compressors, boilers, refrigeration systems
- Experience with various measuring instruments, multi meters, amp probes, thermocouples, torque wrenches, micrometers is required.
- In-depth knowledge and practical experience with electrical, electronics, PLCs, VFDs, cutting/welding, hydraulics, pneumatic, and conveyor systems is required.
- Strong knowledge of Preventative Maintenance procedures is required
- Required computer skills include, but are not limited to; work order entry into the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) and use of PLC fault finding tools. Experience with RS Logix 5000 and Rockwell Software Factory Talk View is a plus.

Job Type / Category

Bakery or Food Industry experience is a strong asset. Industrial automation maintenance experience is required.

12hr shifts days and night coverage. Full time opportunity with scope for advancement.
