Job Description:
The Carrier Service Group - Network Administrator’s key responsibility is to ensure the availability and reliability of Cogeco’s Network connections and systems to support Cogeco’s wholesale Third Party Internet Access (TPIA) resellers. The Customer Network ADM analyzes requests, manages and creates initial design drawings & Methods of Procedures (MOP) in support of Wholesale customer requests, including all TPIA requests in Ontario and Quebec. Finally, support the Carrier Service Group (CSG team) with connectivity troubleshooting and the establishment of processes between the CSG and other groups internal to Cogeco, and between Cogeco’s TPIA ISP customers and Cogeco.
As a Wholesale TPIA customer network specialist, a typical day might include the following:
- Responsible for managing the network based requests from Third Party Internet providers (TPIA) for architecture changes to Cogeco and TPIA networks.- Leads and provides SME knowledge and support for CSG technical assistance/representation in non-TPIA & TPIA project implementations within Cogeco (ex TPIA Portal).- Leads the investigation of CSG requests related to the performance of Cogeco systems, and works with Network teams. Provides resolution and communicates back to the originating request.- Directs and handles all modem TPIA reseller enquiries,testing in coordination with Cogeco standards and Product owner responsible for Gateways and liaises with TPIA sponsor once completed.- Project lead for configuration and installation phases of new TPIA resellers in Ontario and Quebec who wish to connect to Cogeco or directly to the POI to offer connectivity Internet service.- Maintain the systems tools for TPIA resellers to place orders for their end-customers and directs the implementation of improvements (i.e., automation) where feasible & necessary by working with Cogeco internal teams (IT and Network Evolution) to ensure compliance with accepted Cogeco systems and security standards.- Directs the implementation of processes between the CSG and other relevant internal teams (Network Evolution, IT, Customer Experience, etc.)- Supports Wholesale Account Manager with complex Fibre circuit discussions with Wholesaler and provides guidance on configuration requirements prior to submitting quotes to Datacom.- Manage relationships with Call centres and maintain and/or develop policies required for daily operations to meet industry, Cogeco Regulatory, and CRTC requirements.- SME in regards to TPIA regulatory issues or ensuring compliance by ISP’s in all spheres of regular activities as per the Tariff and supporting regulations dictates.- Consistently strives to fulfil Cogeco’s corporate objective to provide excellent service to all WS and TPIA reseller customers.- Provide Statistical Analysis from multiple sources to senior management and project managers.- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners.- Other duties and projects as required.
Who you are and how you work- Looking for specialist with in-depth knowledge of network connectivity and understanding of TPIA configuration, acts quickly and makes pragmatic decisions (as per non regulated and regulated business models)- Agility, flexibility: Demonstrated ability to work with multiple requests with distinct requirements or asks in parallel- Strong analytical skills and problem solving- Strong sense of collaboration, ready to work closely with Network ENG, NOC, Architecture teams and Wholesale Account Managers in regards to connectivity activities and projects.- Strong team player with a roll-up-the-sleeves attitude that's not afraid to get things done, either solo, across internal functional teams and Wholesalers or TPIA resellers.- Good communicator who can take WS or TPIA resellers along the project journey and tell compelling stories.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
- ACADEMIC TRAINING- College Diploma in Engineering, Network or relevant discipline required-
- University degree in a relevant discipline preferred-
- PMI Agile Certification an asset-
- Cisco CCNP, Juniper JNCIS or equivalent an assetWORK EXPERIENCE- Minimum 5 to 7 years’ experience in Telecom network systems-
- Minimum 3 years experience in managing network projects with multiple internal stakeholders-
- Minimum 3 years experience in managing and configuring carrier - grade IP networks-
- Minimum 3 years experience providing statistical analysis for Networking products-
- Experience in communication and dealing with Enterprise and Carrier customers- SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES- Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix Environment-
- Solid knowledge of scripting language
