**First Lutheran Church (FLC) in Calgary SW, is a vibrant, welcoming, and faith-centered congregation. To nurture the faith formation of our children, we are seeking an energetic and committed Christian to coordinate and lead our Sunday morning children’s ministry programs.**

**Position Summary**:

- Title: Children’s Ministry Coordinator
- Hours: 5-7 hours/week
- Compensation: $22-$25/hour

**Current Children’s Programs**:

- Children’s Message (during worship):

- A short, engaging time focused on a Bible story, prayer, and song
- Warm, simple, and accessible format
- FLiCker (Grades 3-6):

- Held during the adult portion of worship
- Includes a short video, group discussion, hands-on activities, and prayer
- Children rejoin the congregation during the Song of the Day

**Primary Responsibilities**:

- Curriculum Planning:
Collaborate with the pastor to prepare engaging lessons and activities that bring the week’s Scripture to life for children.
- Volunteer Coordination:
Recruit and support volunteers to lead the Children’s Message and FLiCker sessions. Step in as needed when volunteer coverage is unavailable.
- Program Preparation:
Ensure all materials, equipment, and supplies are ready in advance to support a smooth and engaging learning experience.
- Sunday Morning Presence:
Arrive early to set up, welcome families, and provide support to volunteers as needed.
- Children’s Dramas:
Partner with the pastor to create and present skits or short dramas for the congregation, including scriptwriting, rehearsal coordination, and prop management.

**Other Expectations**:

- Foster a safe and welcoming environment for children and families (a current police background check is required).
- Attend weekly staff meetings when possible.
- Participate in ongoing improvements to the children’s ministry, ensuring a joyful and meaningful experience for children, their families, and the wider congregation.

Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector clearance certificate.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5 - 7 per week
