The Supervisor - Logistics is accountable to lead Logistics staff in all logistics (shipping, receiving & materials handling) functions and ensuring goods are shipped on time, as communicated with Sales. The incumbent will also serve as a liaison between Logistics and other managed departments. The Position is **hand on**, you will be involved in all aspects of logistics.

**The position will include the following responsibilities**:
Leadership:

- Implement and improve logistics plans, tactics, and goals to achieve corporate & operations strategies.
- Act as a leader for operations development initiatives.
- Recruit, motivate and develop a logistics team to achieve operations objectives using HR processes.
- Demonstrate effective communication with all personnel, suppliers, and customers.
- Utilize EOS Tools to drive accountability across logistics.
- Communicate logistics performance.
- Build support and engagement for corporate initiatives and objectives; and
- Demonstrate Rice values and commitment to Rice Vision & Mission.

Logistics Management:

- Responsible for the management and coordination of shipping, receiving & materials handling functions to obtain optimum efficiency and quality.
- Accountable for ensuring all products are shipped on time and of quality that meets customer expectations.
- Ensure that all logistics activities focus on providing value to the customer and that non-value-added activities are eliminated.
- Manage and review activity reports and key performance indicators (measurables) to determine performance and manage outcomes.
- Communicate with sales to determine shipping times and methods.
- Communicate with the Estimator/Planner and other Supervisory staff for information regarding orders in production needing to be shipped to a customer.
- Coordinate available workforce to complete desired work according to manufacturing orders; and
- Understand and follow OMS Processes related to Job Title as per the Training Matrix.

Process Management:

- Implement and improve logistics processes that enable the company to achieve its primary objectives; and
- Direct and remain accountable for logistics involvement throughout OMS processes.

Safety
- Act as a leader for Rice EHS (Environment, Health and Safety) System performance and initiatives;
- Understand and comply with the Rice EHS System; and
- Help promote a safe work environment.

**Physical Demands /Working Conditions**:

- Occasional travel may be required.
- Able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Able to work in all weather conditions.
- Required to lift 30-50 lbs.

**Education and Experience**
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Forklift license. Other lifting equipment tickets/certifications are an asset.
- Four years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 1-2 years at supervisor level in a logistics environment, with previous experience in target markets and product lines, along with industry contacts an asset.
- Ability to perform math; add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Must be able to follow directions. Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
- Computer navigation and utilization skills.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $23.70-$32.74 per hour
