As the Principal Technical Lead, you are the technical leader for your product or products. You plan and oversee the development of solutions to allow our customers to achieve or exceed their business goals. In this technical role you are responsible and accountable for the implementation and quality of the products under your purview. You craft the architecture and design of your product to meet product goals in alignment with the practices and principals of our Senior Software Architects; you oversee the implementation to ensure architectural and code consistency; you ensure that best practices are being employed, all the while making certain that quality and security are primary considerations.
You coach, mentor, guide, and help nurture the development team (developers and testers) to realize its full potential and adopt our culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.

**What the job is all about**:

- Own the product development, from understanding the customers’ needs to supporting it in the field, and everything in between.
- Develop the best solutions for your customers.
- Interface with Tech Support to understand and resolve issues found in deployed software instances.
- Define vision and strategy for technical implementation of your products.
- Work with the Product Managers and Product Owners to understand customer requirements and ensure we are delivering the right things.
- Reduce the number of issues found by customers by promoting a preventative vs reactionary approach to development and testing.
- Create a culture of technical excellence within the team.
- Work with other teams to align on strategy, deliver solutions, tools, processes, and reuse where it makes sense.
- Work with the Product Owner to establish predictability in release dates and scope.
- Ensuring quality of releases, through proactive and preventative measures.
- Ensuring product meets corporate security standards.
- Ensuring team adherence to the DoD.
- Working with architects to ensure cross-product alignment.
- Driving a culture of innovation and capturing Ross Intellectual Property (trade secrets, patents, and copyright) throughout the development cycle.
- Identifying, prioritizing, and planning technical debt reduction.
- Managing the introduction of 3rd party and FOSS software.
- Identifying, documenting, submitting, and defending audits for government R&D tax incentives.
- Mentoring and coaching staff on best practices for achieving clean architecture and clean code.

- You have the ability to design complex, efficient, and high-quality systems under pressure
- You are and effective leader, technical coach, and mentor.
- You are fluent in clean architectural design; are versed in Domain Driven Design concepts; you know and employ the SOLID principles of OO design.
- You know and espouse the value of test automation.
- You know how to debate passionately and make objective decisions.
- You work collaboratively with others and facilitate groups.
