Position: Corporate Controller / Senior Financial Leader

**Position Profile**:
As Corporate Controller / Senior Financial Leader at Jaffer, you will direct financial operations and ensure the security of assets. Reporting on the financial state of all our entities, you will also make recommendations to improve profitability. You'll be the first point of contact for all financial and accounting-related issues with shareholders, external accounting firms, bankers, and regulatory agencies.
The key roles and responsibilities of this position are as follows:
Financial Reporting and Compliance
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations
- Implement and maintain internal controls
- Process payroll and related payroll taxes in compliance with state and federal regulations
- Process vendor invoices in a timely manner and maintain timely collections
- Maintain the chart of accountsand controls over accounting transactions
- Coordinate with external auditorsfor the annual review engagements
- Comply with state and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
Treasury
- Administer all aspects of banking transactions and manage banking relationships
- Review debtschedules and ensure payments are made in a timely basis
- Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants
- Forecast cash needs going forward and manage working capital
- Maximize cash flow performance
Financial Analysis
- Administer all aspects of financial reporting across all entities
- Use financial analysis, data trends and market information to anticipate needs, identify operating/financial issues, and recommend actions to maximize financial return
- Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics
- Create the annual operating budget for the property and provide analytical support during budget reviews to identify cost saving and productivity opportunities for department heads
- Provide financial analyses as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations
- Analyze ROI for capital projects prior to committing funds and, upon completion, determine if anticipated results were achieved
- Provide financial analyses on any potential new acquisitions
People
- Manage everyday activities, plan and assign work ensuring you always have the right staffing numbers
- Develop your team and improve their performance through coaching and feedback, and create performance and development goals - recognize good performance
- Train your team to make sure they deliver with compliance, to our standards and have the tools they need to work efficiently
- Recommend or initiate any HR elated actions where needed
- Direct the team on how decision-making impacts profits
- Drive a great working environment for teams to thrive
**Qualifications**:
- Business degree with focus in Accounting or Finance
- CPA with 4-to-10-year post designation experience
**Experience**:
- Knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Knowledge of state and federal tax regulations
- Knowledge of internal controls
- Experience in full cycle accounting
- Experience with spreadsheets and word processing programs
- Experience in construction industry preferred
- Experience in hospitality industry preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft GP (Great Plains) preferred
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
**Salary**: $80,000.00-$105,000.00 per year
