Alberta Co-op Taxi Line Ltd. – Edmonton, AB

Alberta Co-op Taxi Line Ltd., one of Edmonton's most trusted transportation providers, is seeking an experienced Corporate Controller to join our management team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, organized, and knowledgeable professional with strong experience in corporate finance and a solid understanding of day-to-day taxi industry operations.

- Position: Corporate Controller

- Location: Edmonton, Alberta

- Full-Time, On-Site

Key Responsibilities

The Corporate Controller will oversee all financial operations of the organization, including but not limited to:

  • Preparing, reviewing, and finalizing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Managing GST reconciliation, remittances, and reporting
  • Coordinating and assisting with annual audits and external auditors
  • Completing driver payouts, ensuring accuracy and timely processing
  • Monitoring and maintaining general ledger accounts
  • Overseeing budgeting, forecasting, and cost-control measures
  • Ensuring compliance with federal, provincial, and municipal financial regulations
  • Managing payroll processes (as applicable)
  • Preparing financial analysis and reports for senior management and the Board
  • Implementing and improving internal financial controls
  • Supervising accounting staff and supporting cross-department teams
  • Supporting taxi operations from a financial perspective, including:
  • Understanding meter-based fare structures
  • Trip revenue reconciliation
  • Plate, insurance, and fleet-related billing processes
  • Performing all other duties typically required of a Corporate Controller

Required Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA designation (completed or in progress) is strongly preferred
  • Minimum 3–5 years of corporate accounting experience
  • Knowledge of transportation or taxi industry operations is a major asset
  • Strong understanding of corporate financial reporting and audit preparation
  • Advanced proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office (Excel in particular)
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
