**Job Description**:
We are on the lookout for a talented **Human Resources Generalist**. This position can work out of any of our Ontario offices, which includes Markham, Kitchener, and Niagara-on-the-Lake. We offer flexible working arrangements, requiring 2-3 days in the office.
Reporting to the Vice-President & General Manager, you will be responsible for all HR matters in the Ontario Operation. You will be given the autonomy to complete a variety of tasks with mínimal supervision. You will achieve this by collaborating with managers, maintaining HR presence and/or visibility in all Ontario offices, and working closely with Corporate HR and Payroll & Benefits teams.
What you will be doing:
- Manage full life cycle recruitment for all positions (e.g., job postings, resume screening, interviewing, reference checks, employment agreements)
- Conduct orientation and on-boarding of new hires
- Assist managers with issues relating to performance, discipline, conflict, etc. including creating letters and participating in discussions
- Ensure company policies and procedures are implemented and being adhered to, and address where necessary (e.g., harassment)
- Track performance management and career planning meetings
- Conduct, coordinate, and track training and presentations, including the feedback process
- Manage leave of absences (e.g., maternity/parental leave, medical leave)
- Manage termination process including attending termination meetings
- Conduct exit interviews
- Participate in the salary adjustment process
- Attend meetings (e.g., management, company-wide HR) and participate in committees
- Effectively address employee inquiries and issues in a timely manner
- Support Health & Safety efforts to maintain compliance and WSIB
- Maintain, organize, track, monitor, and keep confidential various HR-related records and documents to ensure compliance and completion
- Perform all other HR-related duties assigned
**Job Requirements**:
What you will bring:
- Post-secondary education, ideally a degree with a concentration in HR, business, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of progressive HR experience
- Working knowledge of appropriate legislation and regulations in Ontario
- Excellent planning and organizational skills plus ability to manage multiple priorities and execute work efficiently sometimes under tight time constraints
- Strong written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
- Natural attention to details and quality
- Ability to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
- Ability to maintain confidential information and exercise discretion
- Ability to work with people with diverse backgrounds and personalities
- Possess initiative and drive, and can work independently, including making decisions independently and to identify solutions to problems and seek associated approval as needed
- Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook required; experience with SharePoint and Deltek Talent Acquisition is an asset
- Limited travel will be required
