Job Profile

We are looking for an experienced Planning Technician to join the Planning Services Division team, Community Development Department available immediately. The focus of this position will be to:
What you will be doing
Review and process Letters of Compliance by interpreting Zoning By-law, confirming Official Plan and Heritage designation status and Building Code compliance from Building Permit files.
Education

Two-year college Diploma in Planning or Similar

Experience and Knowledge

1-2 years related Planning experience. Possession of a current Certified Planning Technician designation or eligible for Registered Professional Planner along with a valid Drivers' License is required.

Proof of your current and valid certificate(s) and/or educational qualifications.
Valid G driver's license.
Worker Health and Safety Awareness Training certificate from the Ministry of Labour. (may be obtained post offer)
Your compensation

This position is within Grade 7 of the inside workers union Salary Schedule and has an annual salary range of $37.41 to $39.76. We offer a comprehensive benefit package and are an Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System (OMERS) employer.

Hours of work

The current regular hours of work are in accordance with the collective agreement, however, currently are 8:30am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday; some evening hours are required.
