**CHEO RI has an immediate requirement for a Research Assistant.**
**PLEASE NOTE: This position is based out of the Ottawa 360 Concussion Care clinic location. It is NOT based out of the CHEO hospital itself.**

We are looking for a highly motivated Research Assistant that will be involved in the day-to-day activities involved in the conduct of concussion research. The position itself involves working at the 2451 Riverside Drive 360 Concussion Care Clinic location. There is no compensation for costs associated with travel/commute. Specific hours may vary slightly from week to week based on clinic schedule (typically ~8:00-4:00).

**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**

Under the general supervision of the TRANSCENDENT Concussion Research Program manager, the Research Assistant will:

- Be responsible for patient recruitment including screening and obtaining informed consents,
- Be responsible for conducting intake encounters with patients ahead of seeing the physician (this includes obtaining vitals, and completing questionnaires with the patient),
- Be responsible for data entry and data integrity,
- Collect follow-up data,
- Be responsible for the collection, scoring, and coding of research information,
- Be responsible for the creation and maintenance of research files according to study guidelines,
- Assist as needed with other administrative duties related to ongoing research and clinical operations.

Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

**QUALIFICATIONS, SKILL AND ABILITIES**
- College or University undergraduate degree in a health-related field,
- Minimum 1 year of research experience,
- Understanding of research design, procedures, guidelines and standards governing clinical research including Personal Health Information Protection Act,
- Data management experience,
- Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and organizational skills,
- Demonstrated collegiality, professionalism and team skills,
- Demonstrated initiative, flexibility, and ability to work independently.

**WORKING CONDITIONS**
- Working on-site at the Ottawa 360 Concussion Care location,
- Able to be flexible with working hours to accommodate clinic schedules,
- Able to work in a dynamic often hectic environment and be able to multi-task,
- Able to share information in an effective and collaborative manner,
- Able to be creative, challenge and demonstrate initiative to generate improvements.

**OTHER REQUIREMENTS**
- Eligible to work in Canada;
- Compliance with CHEO RI’s Universal COVID-19 Vaccination Policy; and
- Police Record Check.
