As a Leader, Valuation, you will be responsible for leading a team of Assessors and Market Analysts who work together to prepare annual market value property assessments for a sector of Calgary's real estate. You will support your team in collaborating with diverse partners and explaining property assessments to customers and the Assessment Review Board. Primary duties include:
- Ensure team compliance to the legislation and regulations related to property assessments in Alberta.
- Define specific, measurable objectives for your team that align with corporate priorities and direction.
- Create plans and strategies to ensure that your team achieves efficient, timely, high quality results.
- Lead the continuous improvement of your team's products and associated processes.
- Act as an ambassador of your team, responding to inquiries from both internal and external parties.
- Support the growth and development of your team members; providing regular feedback, coaching, and learning opportunities.
- Lead organizational and procedural change within your team.
- Create a safe, respectful, and inclusive work environment within your team.
**Qualifications**
- A degree in Real Estate, Business, Commerce, Economics, Public Administration, or a discipline related to Property Assessment.
- At least 8 years of experience in assessment, appraisal, or taxation with experience interpreting legislation and undertaking professional practice.
- Equivalent combinations of experience and education may be considered.
- A professional assessment or appraisal designation, such as Accredited Municipal Assessor of Alberta (AMAA), Accredited Appraiser Canadian Institute (AACI) or Certified Assessment Evaluator (CAE).
- Previous leadership experience including leading change is required.
- You demonstrate the 4 C¿s of: Character (behaving the right way), Competence (doing the right things the right way), Commitment (dedication to the greater public good), and Collaboration (working together for a common purpose).
