**Job description - Line Cook**

**Responsibilities**:

- Communicates with Sous-Chef and Executive Chef on product needs
- Oversees other staff mise en place and ensures quality and standards
- Cooks food items by grilling, frying, sautéing, and other cooking methods to specified recipes and the highest standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and complies with food sanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage.
- Orchestrates the shut down of the kitchen each night
- Performs inventory checks and completes task lists for the team
- Is able to work independently and contribute to the menu via features or longer term ideas
- Able to work weekends and have a flexible schedule.
- Lifting up to 50lbs and standing for long periods of time.

**Qualifications/Skills**:

- Ordering and menu costing
- Organizational skills
- Accuracy and speed in executing tasks
- Ability to work as a team leader
- Ability to keep a level head and lift up others around you
- Punctual

**Education and Experience Requirements**:

- High school diploma or GED
- Five years of experience as a line cook or sous-chef minimum
- Certificate in Culinary Arts preferred
- Experience with various cooking methods and procedures
- Familiar with industry best practices

Expected hours: 30 - 50 per week
