**The opportunity**

We are hiring for a Skills Trainer/ Employment Support Worker (11 Month Contract Full Time) for Project SEARCH YMCA Three Rivers.

**Responsibilities**
- Provide individualized support for Project SEARCH interns to acquire competitive and marketable skills.
- Collaborate with the teacher/business liaison, school board personnel, and Project SEARCH management to develop internships offering diverse skill-building opportunities.
- Communicate effectively with Project SEARCH instructors, department managers/mentors, co-workers, family members, and relevant stakeholders.
- Identify and implement training strategies in coordination with the Project SEARCH instructor and host business staff.
- Develop internship sites that build marketable skills leading to employment.
- Train interns using systematic instruction techniques and develop task analyses to support performance standards.
- Learn and teach the site culture, rules, and expectations within each department.
- Support accessibility and accommodation needs, ensuring compliance with MODC policies.
- Train interns on grooming, hygiene, communication, interviewing, and social behavior.
- Assess and provide feedback on interns’ progress to all relevant team members.
- Complete reports, case notes, and assessments as required.
- Facilitate ongoing communication with the steering committee to monitor intern progress and address challenges.
- Support interns on evenings and weekends as needed.

**Qualifications and experience**
- Degree or diploma in Social Services, Developmental Service Worker, or relevant education.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in training/coaching, systematic instruction, job, and task analysis.
- Experience in employment counseling is considered an asset.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle is required.
- Strong organizational skills, initiative, and ability to work independently.
- Decision-making and problem-solving skills within a collaborative environment.
- Effective interpersonal communication skills to build positive relationships with stakeholders.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel) and Windows.
