We are currently seeking a **Permitting Officer - Beaver Dam,** to join our team. This is a full time permanent role with our Atlantic Operations based at our Bedford, NS Office. Reporting to the Permitting Superintendent, you will support the progress of future and current permits through the provincial and federal process to meet the business needs. This includes project management, field surveys supervision, overseeing contractors, updating timelines/budgets and independent project studies.

**The Opportunity**:

- Ensuring own Health & Safety as well as that of all other workers, identifying and maintaining safe work practices and completing all required safety training.
- Supporting the compliance of existing and permitting of current and future mine projects including but not limited to EIS, IA, Fisheries Authorization, Water Withdrawals, Wetlands.
- Coordinating multiple contractors and consultants to ensure safety, quality, timing, progress, and budgets are met
- Undertaking independent studies related to compliance, permitting, environmental standards and benchmarking to relevant projects.
- Support writing and preparation of permits for submission to federal and provincial regulators.
- Managing and support of field monitoring programs and external reporting as required under existing permits, licenses and the Company's environmental management system.
- Coordinating quarterly baseline sampling campaigns to build a library of historical data.
- Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders and provide guidance on permitting requirement and obligations.
- Contributing to annual planning, strategizing, and budgeting for all permitting related tasks.
- Responsible for contract management, proposal review, coordinating the approvals process for work scope budgets.
- Managing effective use of available resources, including own time, in support of the delivery of the permitting department team/crew.
- Contributing to communications across Environment and Permitting teams.
- Ensuring own work performance meets all role requirements; and taking appropriate professional development actions.

- Interest in project management and project controls such as schedule, financial, and quality management.
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree or Technology Diploma, preferably in environmental sciences or engineering.
- 1-3 years experience in a similar role.
- Excellent verbal, writing and technical communication skills, strong computer skills.
- Experience in mining or resource development preferred.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Current unencumbered Class 5 Driver’s License.
