**Summary**

The Logistics Manager is responsible for the overall logistics management at Norseman Inc. for Canada and the USA. The Logistics Manager oversees distribution, transportation, and inventory control at third party warehouse locations. In addition, the Logistics Manager is responsible for selecting and managing transportation, customs clearance, and third party warehousing vendors.

**Logistics Management**
- Manage and plan for logistics policies, objectives, and initiatives
- Create procedures for logistics management to optimize product workflow and minimize cost
- Source and manage transportation, third party warehouse, and logistics vendors
- Negotiate service terms with vendors
- Manage all duties, customs, harmonized tariff classifications, import and export costs, and tax functions, including certification and verification, drawback, and compliance with government agencies and regulations
- Oversee distribution, transportation, and inventory control at third party warehouse locations
- Ensure that project/department milestones and goals are met
- Adhere to approved budgets

**Communication**
- Communicate availability and service interruption issues which could potentially impact production scheduling, shipment of trading goods, and customer order fulfillment
- Obtain and forward information to operation and sales teams
- Liaise with customs brokers for updated reporting procedures and valuations
- Attend and participate in inter-departmental meetings and provide support for special projects to maintain awareness of current developments

**Analytics**
- Create and review procedures for distribution and inventory management to maximize customer satisfaction and minimize cost
- Ensure rational distribution and delivery according to analysis reports and tracking records

**General Administration**
- Manage subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs
- Assist with annual and seasonal planning of inventories, importation, and warehousing to support Norseman’s sales and marketing objectives
- Update and maintain databases

**Requirements**:

- Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management preferred. Consideration may be given to those with equivalent education and experience
- 8+ years of experience in a related area as an individual contributor
- 2+ years of supervisory experience may be required
- In-depth knowledge of domestic and international logistics networks
- Able to develop extensive knowledge of internal processes in a short time-frame
- Proficient computer skills (MS Office suite, Internet, AX, SalesForce)
- Commitment to and concern for workplace safety

**Accountabilities**
- The Logistics Manager is accountable to the VP, Sales & Marketing and staff in Procurement, Production, Shipping & Receiving, Sales, and Production Administration for contributing to the financial success and sustainability of the company.
- The Logistics Manager is accountable to the Norseman customers for ensuring the quickest and most cost-effective methods of product delivery.
- The Logistics Manager is accountable to the staff under his/her management for providing effective leadership and clear direction, counseling, coaching and leadership which motivates the team toward success and a culture of being Fiercely Reliable. He/she is also accountable for ensuring tools and resources are available to support the team.
- The Logistics Manager is accountable to the staff under his/her management for ensuring communication and commitments made to internal and external clients are achievable.
