The St. Thomas Economic Development Corporation is recruiting for a: HORTON MARKET COORDINATOR Full-Time Job Posting #1054-04-25 **POSITION SYNOPSIS AND PURPOSE**: Administration of the Horton Farmers’ Market for the City of St. Thomas is the responsibility of the St. Thomas Economic Development Corporation. Under the general direction of the Manager of Business Development & Entrepreneurship (the Manager), is responsible for overseeing the operations the Horton Farmers’ Market and the Horton Farmers’ Market Community Commercial Kitchen. The Horton Market Coordinator provides leadership support throughout the community and enhances the contribution that small businesses and the Market make to the economy of St. Thomas and Elgin County, with a particular focus on those businesses involved in the agriculture and food sectors. **MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES**: Horton Farmers’ Market and Commercial Kitchen (70%) - Coordinate and manage all aspects of the Horton Farmers’ Market (the Market) and the Horton Farmers’ Market Community Commercial Kitchen (the Commercial Kitchen). - Plan and execute all events at the Market, with support from the Manager and other members of the EDC team. - Attend all Saturday Markets and all Market-related events, unless otherwise approved by the Manager. - Ensure that the Market site is clean and safe for vendors and visitors, following all local health guidelines, before and after events. - Represent the EDC at Farm Markets Ontario meetings and workshops at the direction of the Manager. - Assist with the implementation of capital projects at the Market. - Provide weekly reports on Market and Commercial Kitchen operations to the Manager. - Maintain an accurate list with contact information for all current and potential market vendors as well as a record of correspondence with potential new vendors. - Issue invoices and manage payments and collections for the Market providing reports to the Manager and Treasury Department as required. - Oversee and supervise any volunteers or summer students working at Market events. - Support the EDC Manager of Marketing & Communications with marketing activities relating to the Market and Commercial Kitchen and promote events and activities taking place at the Horton Market, along with a focus on each vendor and sponsor as needed. Client-focused Service (25%) - Respond to all enquiries and questions from businesses and partner organizations, being the first point of contact for most enquiries. - Provide relevant business information to local entrepreneurs and make referrals to appropriate advisors, professionals, agencies, or other support services as appropriate. - Work with local organizations and community partners to assist with the coordination of special projects that encourage entrepreneurship or support small business development within St. Thomas-Elgin, with a focus on farm and food businesses. Administrative (5%) - Maintain accurate records, monthly expenses, databases, economic statistics and client success stories as required by contract for any clients who meet the criteria for the Small Business Enterprise Centre - Note: All activities are expected to be performed in a safe manner, in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and its Regulations, along with Corporate Safety policies, procedures and programs. In addition, all necessary personal protective equipment must be used and maintained in good condition. **QUALIFICATIONS**: Other Must possess a valid Class "G" Ontario Driver's Licence and access to reliable transportation. Satisfactory Police Record Check. Required travelling and working outside and beyond the normal hours of work including occasional mandatory evenings and weekends. Hours of Work The workweek is 35 hours, Tuesday - Saturday, with occasional other evenings as needed. **REMUNERATION RANGE**: $55,164 - $67,053 per annum working a 35 hour work week plus a comprehensive benefit package and OMERS pension plan.
