Family owned & operated since 1948, Bayview Flowers is a live plant grower, broker, and distributor that services supermarkets and big box retailers across North America. We are currently looking for an Assistant Supervisor in our Greenhouse.

This position is responsible for supervising and directing greenhouse T-Line order pickers to facilitate accurate and on-time shipping operations in the J2 facility. All efforts are to achieve established objectives for quality, productivity, and operational costs/efficiencies.

**Areas of Accountability**:

- Supervision and occasional administrative support in the absence of assistant manager
- Ensure timely and accurate production
- Quality
- Designation of greenhouse employees to jobs provided.
- Work with greenhouse management on setting order and job priorities

**Essential Functions and Specific Tasks/Responsibilities**
- Ensure the timely and accurate picking, packing, labelling, and shipping of Jordan 2 Greenhouse products, filled to specified levels within targeted completion dates and acceptable quality parameters.
- Ensure accurate update and documentation tracking, and record hours and tasks for greenhouse employees on all activities.
- Ensure adherence to all Occupational Health and Safety and housekeeping policies and guidelines, accident prevention, employee training, and policy compliance
- Assign duties to greenhouse staff, overseeing and coordinating daily activities of the greenhouse T-Line team; this includes training, evaluating and motivating all employees
- Provide follow-up and feedback on results, respond and diffuse conflicts between staff when needed, communicate changes and announcements about schedules and issues in the workplace.
- Manage the assignment and rotation of work responsibilities within the department.
- Support the proper required selection, evaluation, training and development and motivation for all employees under their direction.
- Manage the assignment and rotation of work responsibilities within the T-Line area.
- Ensure all staff under your direction are provided with the plant and upgrade products to complete the orders in a timely and efficient manner.
- Operate Logiqs automation system for safe, competent, and efficient movement of products through the Header House.
- Assist in completing production tasks where required.
- Ensure all cleanup is conducted efficiently before employees leave for the day.

**Credentials/ Qualifications**:

- Minimum 3-5 years of greenhouse experience.
- 1 year in supervisorial/management position.
- Strong leadership, coaching, communication, problem solving and organizational skills.
- Highly organized with the ability to multi-task.
- Prior knowledge of production scheduling practices.
- Working knowledge of basic computer skills including Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
