Banquet Events Supervisor

**Job Summary**

Reporting to the Event Sales Coordinator, the Banquet Events Supervisor is responsible for assisting with the overall supervising of Banquet staff during banquet functions, weddings and meetings. Ensuring cleanliness and sanitation, providing friendly and efficient guest service, and completion of occasional administrative duties according to need.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Reporting directly to the Event Sales Coordinator, assisting with all aspects of event operations.
- Assisting in the supervision and direction of Banquet Staff during set up/tear down and all events
- Ensure that excellent levels of service are being delivered to event guests during service.
- Maintain a positive attitude that promotes teamwork
- Assist in the set up and tear down of all events
- Assist with food service and bartending during all weddings, events and meetings when needed
- Maintain an onsite presence during all meetings, events and wedding.
- Act as Manager in the absence of Event Sales Coordinator during events
- Oversee that established quality standards for timely delivery, presentation is exceeded.
- Bring any customer concerns/suggestions to the attention of the Event Sales Coordinator.
- Ensure all safety regulations are implemented and followed.
- Ensures the highest level of customer services for guests at all times.
- Assist Event Sales Coordinator with Social Media promotion and content
- All other duties as assigned by Event Sales Coordinator.

The position could require the employee to work 10-30 hours per week based on events booked.

The starting date to train for this position will be effective immediately. The applicant must be available to work all event functions during weekdays and evenings, weekends and holidays. Required to work on the following holiday functions: Easter Sunday, Mother’s Day, Thanksgiving Sunday, Christmas Day, New Years Eve.

**Required Education, Skills and Qualifications**
- College or University, diploma/degree in Hospitality, Events Management or related program
- SmartServe certified is required
- Bartending and serving experience
- Previous experience with working events and banquets
- Must have reliable transportation. We are not on bus route
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and oral.
- Strong analytical/decision-making skills.
- A positive and team-oriented attitude.
- Must be able to work with mínimal supervision and have a strong initiative.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
- Passionate and productive leadership skills
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Strong organizational, supervisory and communication skills
- 80% Constant standing and walking throughout shift.
- Ability to move furniture unassisted and lift 25+ lbs
- Must be able to work over 8-10 flexible hours including, mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends and holidays
- Bartending and Serving experience (required)
- Customer Service: 1 year (required)
- Previous experience working Events and/or Banquets and Weddings (preferred)
- Smart Serve (required)
- Safe Food Handling (preferred)
- Secondary School (required)
- College or University, diploma/degree in Hospitality or Events Management (required)
- English (required)

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $19.00 per hour
