The Lakeview Hecla Resort, on Hecla Island, is looking for an Assistant Front Desk Manager to join our TEAM We are looking for a friendly, forward thinking person to help lead our Front Desk on this beautiful Island. **This job would include complimentary accommodation (close by at staff housing) and a $500 monthly meal account.**

Primary Objective: The Assistant Front Desk Manager’s main responsibility is to ensure guest satisfaction. The AFDM is also responsible for maximizing room revenues in line with Lakeview Management Inc. standards, by providing efficient and courteous front desk service. The AFDM is also responsible for training, scheduling and supervising the front desk clerks and night auditors

Major Areas of Responsibility:
Assists all guests in a sincere and courteous manner, and whenever possible, going the extra mile and doing whatever it takes to ensure guest satisfaction.

Registers and processes guests promptly upon arrival and departure.

Performs all guest accounting functions according to established hotel operating procedures to ensure all guest and house accounts are complete and accurate.

Demonstrates a working knowledge of all services and facilities of the hotel, as well as the local area, and effectively assists guests.

Adheres to all established credit and inventory control procedures to minimize exposure to loss of revenue.

Demonstrates the use of sales techniques to effectively sell the property, maximizing occupancy and average rate.

Receives and processes telephone and walk-in reservations accurately to ensure guest satisfaction.

Professionally and competently operates the telephone system according to Lakeview Management Inc. standards.

Understands and applies all hotel safety and security procedures to maintain a secure and safe environment for employees and guests

Keeps immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance coming to his/her attention so prompt corrective action can be taken.

Professionally and competently deals with guest inquiries and complaints in a prompt manner.

Ensures all front desk clerks and night auditors are performing their duties according to Lakeview Management Inc. standards.

Ensures all front desk employees are aware of all changes pertaining to their position and maintains on-going training to ensure guest satisfaction.

Maintains a Gift Certificate log, and submits to General Manager upon month end.

Monitors and orders stationary as required keeping within monthly budget.

Keeps the Rooms Division Manager promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matter s of significance coming to his/her attention so prompt corrective action can be taken.

Performs other duties as requested or required.

Qualification Standards:
Proficiency of basic computer programs and typing efficiency with mínimal errors

Ability to quickly learn front desk technical procedures such as: check -in, check-out, selling skills, computer operation, telephone operations, etc.

Ability to handle monetary transactions and give correct change.

Ability to work well on multiple tasks simultaneously.

Ability to be friendly and cheerful; interact easily with guests and co-workers.

Ability to cooperate with and support others.

Ability to observe, react quickly and adjust to different guest situations.

Ability to cope with stress, showing self-control during excitement.

Ability for strong organizational skills and strong detail orientation.

Ability to physically operate equipment such as: computer, credit card machines, telephone console/switchboard, calculator, fax and photocopy machines, etc.

Staff housing is only 1.5 kilometres drive from the resort, or a 10 - 15 minute walk taking a short-cut through our golf course. **We now have Starlink internet at housing for our employees**We have a small, close-knit community of about 60 employees that live in housing on the Island.
