**Responsibilities**:
**Safety**
- Continuously promote and enforce a commitment to safety throughout all areas of our business consistent with our H&S policy.
- Fulfil primary leadership role both formally on our health and safety committee as well as on the shop floor leading by example and through the supervisory and technical group geared to maintaining 100% focus on H&S, housekeeping and the identification and elimination of hazards.
- Conduct regular walk around, floor audits, employee meetings etc. geared to promoting awareness and the maintenance of a safe and healthy work place
- KPI - Target - Zero incidents

**Quality**
- Ensure all areas of our production operations are prepared and fully compliant with established policies, procedures and work instructions to achieve production targets while ensuring compliance with IATF: 16949
- Ensure all areas of our production operations are maintained and in compliance with established standards. Identify and correct non-standard operations / methods; define root cause and implement permanent systemic corrections when discrepancies are identified. Promote a culture of awareness and vigilance focused on bringing all employees to a higher level of vigilance and holding people accountable.
- Work with QA, Engineering and maintenance to drive quality improvement efforts in our production operations utilizing existing data streams to identify and prioritize problem areas and CIP opportunities.
- Promote a culture of excellence, pride and ownership through on-going communication through our leadership team. Ensure and promote a consistent message that production has ultimate responsibility for product quality and that shortcuts and compromises cannot and will not be tolerated (hold support groups accountable).
- Develop and maintain highest possible standards for housekeeping.
- Utilize daily MRB meeting to identify problem areas immediately and develop “real time” countermeasures, starting with root cause identification and corrective action.
- Promote, establish and enforce a zero defects culture

**Productivity**
- Develop, promote and model appropriate leadership techniques and approaches in order to maintain and promote the highest standard for professionalism and ethics in our supervisory group.
- Utilize KPI data to identify and set priorities and execution timelines for productivity improvement. Manage / oversee activities to ensure goals are met and improvement is maintained.
- Promote and foster a sense of ownership and engagement throughout the entire organization in supporting CIP in production operations.
- KPI targets; 90% efficiency for direct labour, 85% efficiency for actual direct labour efficiency (productive work and off-standard work combined)

**Lean Methods integration / expansion**
- Provide the strategic leadership necessary to focus on preventive and predictive maintenance vs reactive / failure-based repairs by establishing discipline, encourage techs and associates to spot anomalies and to bring issues forward for prompt correction. Eliminate “band aids” and “work arounds”.
- Develop a plan to reduce set-up times and the effectiveness of process start-ups by employing best SMED principles.
- Establish and maintain a **world class** state of 5S as the foundation to all our CIP activities, Mission and Values.

**Training / Culture**
- Utilize strategic organizational objectives to identify and develop individualized training for further development of our supervisory and technical team with focus on improving individual levels of expertise, improving teamwork and accountability and promoting retention. Groom next generation of designers, program managers and supervisors through cross training and identifying high performers for future promotion.
- With support from the Director of Operations, create a culture where all support staff understand that Production is the Customer. This will be driven by using existing data streams to drive a pursuit of Manufacturing Excellence.
- Assume responsibility / oversight of all HR issues impacting your team including manpower planning, recruitment of personnel, performance appraisal, training, on-boarding and succession planning.
- Lead the development / implementation of appropriate policies and best practices in our business aimed at ensuring the highest possible levels of trust, employee morale, accountability, discipline and commitment to the ongoing success / advancement of our business.
- Develop training methods and strategies geared to establishing and promoting robust, consistent adherence to standards, operational discipline and a sense of ownership and responsibility.
- Develop planning geared to ensuring full cross training of technicians to increase flexibility and improve morale and professional skills.
- Establish secondary duties and projects for all technicians geared to increasing expertise, experience and engagement.
