Reporting to the Director, National Grants & Foundations, in this role you will be a strategic, passionate, and goals-oriented member of the National Grants & Foundations Development team. This role can be based out of any Make-A-Wish Canada office and is a full-time, permanent, hybrid position. WHAT YOU WILL DO - Build and manage a revenue pipeline of grants & foundations funding. - Identify, prioritize and pursue grants and other opportunities that align with and advance MAWC’s mission and strategic priorities. - Author grant and foundation proposals, reports, information briefs and presentations. - Participate in both regional and national fund development meetings to develop a solid understanding of needs and priorities. - Consult and collaborate with department staff from across the organization, including mission, operations and marketing & communications, to identify new opportunities for external funding. - Develop a schedule/pipeline of grant opportunities with associated deadline dates, both nationally and regionally. - Provide monthly progress reports to National Development leadership. - Develop stewardship reports to granting foundations as required. - Monitor and assess funding opportunities, new funding programs and trends as they relate to MAWC’s interests. - Other duties as assigned. WHAT YOU BRING - University undergraduate degree in a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. - 3-5 years’ experience in writing grants, proposals, or other technical documents in the not-for-profit sector. - CFRE designation is an asset. - Experience using research platforms (iWave, GrantAdvance, etc.) - Strong knowledge of national and local children’s-based foundations in Canada. - Excellent writing and communications skills. - Bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset. - Strong presentation skills. - Proficiency in MS Office, PowerPoint, and CRM (Salesforce preferred). - Demonstrated ability to source out new funding opportunities. - A clear Criminal Background Check will be required. YOUR WORK ENVIRONMENT - Hybrid work environment (2 days in-office, 3 days remote per week) with occasional requirement to work outside of traditional office hours. - Occasional day/overnight travel, as well as occasional event attendance locally.
