Detailed Overview:
Provides comprehensive behaviour management and consultation using applied behavioural analysis and intervention for adults with acquired brain injuries within a multi-disciplinary team setting; services are provided via community and program in-reach. Goal of service is to reduce or eliminate behaviours in order to maximize the client’s capabilities, community participation, maintain current housing and recovery from or adaptation to disability.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provides comprehensive functional behaviour assessment, gathering relevant history and reporting, conducting behavioural observation, and utilizing ABC charting for assessment results and recommendations.
- Analyzes and synthesizes data gathered and develops behavioural intervention plans. Provides training regarding behavioural plans and interventions to family-members and caregivers where appropriate.
- Collaborates with other team members on complex clients, participating in and contributing to assessments; care planning and needed follow up for the implementation and on-going evaluation of behavioural strategies, as well as engaging members of the client’s support network.
- Develops safety plans in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary team to ensure behaviour strategies are embedded in the care plan; minimizing risk of harm and supporting least intrusive approach to care.
- Develops and monitors individual client and funded contract support services for clients; evaluates effectiveness and quality of services provided to clients by conducting on-site inspections and facilitating follow-up action, as per established policies and procedures.
- Develops and facilitates psycho-educational and support groups for individuals with acquired brain injury, families and their caregivers; provides training/educational seminars/workshops for professionals/caregivers/ clients.
- Produces and maintains confidential client clinical records in accordance with established standards and procedures; writes timely and accurate reports of relevant observations and evaluation of care to ensure continuity of communication and full client documentation.
- Participates in local, regional and external committees and working groups to strengthen professional practice and team development; provides input into operational issues.
- Acts as a clinical resource to students, by responding to questions, providing advice and guidance on best practice, organizing and/or evaluating activities, and/or adherence to action plans.
- Uses knowledge and skill in area of professional practice, clinical assessment and care management to independently manage a complex client case load; participates in education programs and evaluates and develops own competencies and abilities to maintain and improve professional standards.
