As a **Part**-Time Adult, Youth, Childcare Worker **at our** Adult Services** program in Langley, **you will have the opportunity to be a part of a team that provides support, care, and mentorship to adults with ASD and special needs in a therapeutic home setting. The line is 32 hours/week and the shift times are as follows:
Sunday - 11:00am to 7:00pm
Monday - 11:00am to 7:00pm
Friday - 3:00pm to 11:00pm
Saturday - 3:00pm to 11:00pm

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum 1 year of experience working with adults with ASD and behavioural challenges
- Ability to set and maintain firm boundaries with young adults
- Knowledge of supportive strategies, needs, and risk assessment
- Knowledge of therapeutic approaches
- Effective de-escalation and crisis management skills
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication
- Current Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certification (or willing to be trained during onboarding)
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination (or approved exemption or accommodation from the Provincial Health Authority or Hollyburn)
- BC Class 5 Driver's License or Equivalent

**A sample of what you’ll be doing**:

- Maintaining a safe and healthy environment in the home
- Building positive working relationships with the client, family, community members, and other professionals involved in the care team
- Encouraging and modeling acceptable social standards and setting appropriate boundaries
- Engaging in frequent interaction with clients, using appropriate means of communication
- Facilitating recreational and/or educational activities
- Attending school meetings and case conferences when required
- Performing household maintenance duties, preparing meals, administering medication, and assisting clients with personal care as needed
- Collaborating with the clinical team and providing input into assessments and care plans

**Salary**: $24.00-$26.00/hour plus benefits
