Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing and the Marketing Managers, the Marketing and Public Relations Specialist oversees content creation, promotion, and lead generation for their program portfolio as well as other duties as required. This role requires superior writing and editing skills combined with proficiency in digital marketing, analytics, and social media. Familiarity with a wide range of field practices and best practices is also essential.
**Digital Marketing**
- Provide direction and support to our Google Ads and Programmatics specialists
- Monitor search trends using Google Analytics and Google Search Console
- Perform keyword research to enhance website SEO
- Responsible for reputation management including replying to social media reviews and messages
**Social Media**
- Manage organic and paid Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and TikTok campaigns
- Create content including graphic and video assets to promote programs, build meaningful connections, and encourage engagement across all social channels
- Analyze and report on paid and organic social media metrics to measure the performance and ROI
- Provide and execute strategic recommendations based on analytics and insights
- Build and execute social media strategies through competitive research, benchmarking, channel selection, messaging, and audience identification
- Ensure consistent branding of various posts, messages, and publications
- Monitor, report, and respond to all brand mentions
- Develop and manage the budgets for all paid social media campaigns
**Content Creation**
- Develop inspiring content for print, video, and various digital channels
- Interview student, faculty, and industry partners to write compelling feature articles and to direct and produce motivational videos
- Maintain editorial calendars
- Copywriting, copyediting and storytelling
- Write and edit blogs as well as manage and provide guidance to student and guest bloggers
- Create and maintain SEO-friendly website content
- Develop content and provide direction for collateral materials
- Create content strategy using research and competitor analysis
- Direct writers, videographers/photographers, and designers to generate captivating content
- Write and distribute news releases
**Marketing Automation**
- Develop and implement drip and nurture campaigns
- Prepare marketing reports and presentations using CRM systems with strategic recommendations
- Perform ongoing A/B testing to improve campaign performance
- Manage list segmentation
**Event Management**
- Coordinate, promote, and execute all special events such as graduation ceremonies, campus life events, and webinars
- Contact media and third-party stakeholders for event promotion and advertising
- Manage photo archives and ad and press clippings

**Qualifications**
- A college or university diploma or degree is required
- A diploma in Marketing Management (Communications Option) from BCIT is preferred
- At least one year of marketing experience
- Two years of customer service experience is required
- Intermediate to advanced skill set in MS Office and familiarity with Creative Cloud and alternative media platforms

COVID-19 considerations:
90% of the position is remote. When we meet in person, once or twice a month, each member of the marketing team does a rapid test and we wear masks in public spaces but not in our meetings.
