Coordinator, Smart Start

**Job Description**:
The mission of The Royal Conservatory, to develop human potential through leadership in music and the arts, is based on the conviction that the arts are humanity's greatest means to achieve personal growth and social cohesion. The curriculum for the study of music developed by the RCM has become Canada's national standard.

RCM America is a not-for-profit entity created by The Royal Conservatory of Music to oversee the development, support, and expansion of our educational programming into new markets within the United States. An exciting and recent strategic project, this US-based venture nurtures awareness of RCM programs while seeking to forge new partnerships that promote our core curricula as well as the launch of our Smart Start early childhood program for educators and learners.

**What is the Opportunity?**:
Reporting to the Director, Smart Start, the Coordinator, Smart Start is responsible for daily administrative needs supporting the Smart Start program. This role will also be the first point of contact for inquiries about the program and will act as the “face” of Smart Start as our presence develops. Professionalism, a customer-service orientation, and well-honed administrative skills are vital for the incumbent of this role.

**Main Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Supporting the coordination of meetings with potential clients and RCM staff.
- Responding to general inquiries regarding the Smart Start Program, leveraging excellent communication skills and professionalism in representing the RCM and Smart Start brand.
- Supporting operational and administrative activities for the department, including processing agreements, contracts, and invoices.
- Supporting the organization of teacher training including logístical considerations, enrollment, and distributing the required materials.
- Collaborating with various departments including IT and Digital Learning to ensure workflows for the teacher training are running smoothly.
- Collaborating with the sales and business development team regarding teacher certification and licensure processes.
- Working with the Director, Smart Start to set up webinars and schedule professional development workshops.
- Supporting logistics at conferences on an as-needed basis.
- Contributing actively to team meetings for strategic and tactical planning processes.
- Supporting curriculum development for teacher training resources and courses.
- Performing other role-relevant duties as required.

**Job Requirements**:
**What We're Looking For**:

- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- One (1) to three (3) years’ administrative experience, ideally in an educational, not-for-profit, or start-up environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to multi-task effectively and adapt to changing priorities.
- Team player willing to jump in and support where needed, but equally capable of working independently with mínimal supervision.
- Interest in and experience with music and/or educational programming preferred.
- Background in music and music education a plus.

- This position works remotely.
- Occasional requirements to work outside of regular business hours.
- May sit for extended periods of time with exposure to computer screen
