As a part of the NSCSC industry services team, the Communications Coordinator will contribute to the development of communications and marketing content for both the NSCSC and affiliated organizations (digital and print).

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

- Supporting the development of social media posts, news releases, announcements, profiles, marketing materials, etc.
- Contributing to the development and implementation of communication plans, brand strategies, promotional ideas, etc.
- Developing and maintaining editorial calendar(s) as well as workflow processes for content development and management
- Gathering and compiling research as needed for planning and communication purposes
- Media monitoring and communication of industry relevant content to the NSCSC team and partners for information and response
- Measuring, understanding, and reporting on the impact of marketing and communications activities
- Supporting other areas of industry service including print production, event management, etc.
- Other duties as required
- Outstanding communication skills (written and verbal)
- Customer service oriented with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with industry and media partners
- Demonstrated social media experience in a business context
- Strong creative writing and graphic design skills
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills with excellent attention to detail
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced result-oriented fluid environment
- Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, Power Point, Photoshop, etc.)
- Education in Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, Digital Media, Communications, or a related discipline and/or experience in a similar position
- Valid driver’s license and own transportation

Please identify additional skills and experiences, including, but not limited to: languages, creative arts, education, training, projects, graphic design and production etc. as they will be considered an asset.

**Work Environment**

Primarily a small office environment.

This position will be required to complete a criminal record and child abuse registry check. Individuals must be able to meet physical demands as required, including (but not limited to): lifting, pushing, pulling of approximately 50 lbs., bending, standing and walking for extended periods.

**Hours of Work**

Full-time - typically 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM (Monday to Friday)

Overnight travel and some evening and weekend work may be required.

**Remuneration**

Based on experience and education. Range: $24.00 - $28.00/hr

**About the Organization**

The Nova Scotia Construction Sector Council (NSCSC) is a not-for-profit organization established to communicate and consult with the Industrial, Commercial, and Institutional (ICI) construction sector on matters relating to human resource planning, research and skills development.

**Salary**: $24.00-$28.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday

- Halifax, NS: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Education**:

- Bachelor's Degree (preferred)

**Experience**:

- public relations: 1 year (preferred)
