**Position Summary**:
Coordinates, plans, and supervises the implementation of the Regional Health Survey (RHS) to ensure delivery of effective and culturally appropriate online data collection and survey methods within select First Nations communities in BC. Provides leadership, facilitation, and guidance in all activities related to data collection. Recommends strategies and problem solving techniques associated with the RHS.

**Responsibilities**:
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Represents the RHS and the FNHA in First Nations communities across BC. Provides presentations to communities, band councils, and leadership as required, to facilitate and encourage community involvement in the RHS
- Coordinates data collection activities by defining and establishing schedules, setting priorities, providing support and direction, and dealing with administrative issues as needed, and provides recommendations and planning direction in support of the RHS
- Collects Band Council Resolutions from select BC First Nations noting a community’s decision to participate in the RHS
- Supervises and provides direction and guidance to the Data Collectors by setting priorities, monitoring and handling administrative issues as required. Recruits, trains, and conducts performance management reviews for the Data Collectors
- Creates and finalizes community sample lists from select BC First Nations to complete the surveys
- Plans, develops, implements, reviews and monitors effective and culturally appropriate training programs for the data collection team. Conducts regional training sessions and then one-on-one training as required
- Provides backup support to other Field Supervisors as required
- Reviews and performs quality checks on data and reports received to ensure accuracy and compliance with policy and procedures. Handles all reimbursements for Data Collectors
- Develops and implements tools and processes to help the Data Collectors in creating an integrated and comprehensive complement of competencies, skills, and expertise to best serve First Nation communities and the FNHA

**Qualifications**:
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education
- Diploma in administration or health-related field or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
Occupational Certification
- Valid BC Driver’s License required
Experience
- Recent and relevant experience (usually acquired through 2-3 years’ experience in survey methodologies in public health or a relevant setting
- Experience communicating with Band/community level staff
- Experience working with First Nations clients/groups
**Knowledge, Skills & Attributes**:
Knowledge
- Knowledge of and respect for BC First Nations history and diverse cultures
- Proficient with information technology including working knowledge of survey platforms, business computing and data base technology
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written
- Ability to work in and across multiple teams in a participatory manner
- Knowledge of OCAP® principles
Competencies
- Ability to plan, develop and implement effective and culturally appropriate training programs for data collectors
- Ability to ensure cultural relativity and appropriateness as a foundation for all survey and data collection methods and processes
- Ability to build and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with a variety of staff, contractors, clients and other health services partners
- Ability to manage contractors and project teams in a wellness-based organizational environment
