London Cares Homeless Response Service is a not-for-profit agency aimed at building relationships and supporting those who are experiencing homelessness making it possible to help move some of the most vulnerable people in our community from street to home. Through a low barrier, compassionate approach we build relationships and are advocates for those we work with to build bridges and connections to the resources they need in support of their success and well-being.

As an Outreach Worker you can expect to assertively and skillfully engage with people experiencing homelessness who are street involved, sleeping rough or urban camping in the City of London. The work of this team is community-based requiring workers to meet people where they are at to provide in-the-moment crisis support, connections to social and healthcare services and linkages to safe, alternative solutions focused on housing.

London Cares offers employees a unique opportunity to be part of positive changes in our community to help solve the homelessness crisis.

**In this position you will be required to work on a rotational schedule including day, afternoon and night shifts as well as weekends.**

We recognize the work you will do at London Cares is not easy and we offer our **Full-time** employees with:

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Post-Secondary education in the field of social work, human services, addictions, or mental health
- 2+ years of experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness and vulnerable populations
- Clear vulnerable police record check
- Valid Standard First Aid/CPR is a requirement of this position.
- Training in non-violent crisis intervention and ASSIST considered an asset
- A valid drivers license

**SKILLS AND ABILITIES**
- A willingness to uphold a low-barrier approach and understanding of harm reduction and housing first principles.
- Skillful in-the-moment problem solving with a calm disposition
- Knowledge of community resources in the City of London and system navigation will be an asset to this role.
