**What does a Purchasing Agent do?**
- Fill out purchase orders and submit supplies.
- Match packing slips and purchase orders for supplies/materials.
- Verify/check pricing of supplies/materials received to ensure accuracy of amount of the invoices.
- Submit invoices, packing slips and purchase orders to accounting department.
- Review, update and verify inventory levels on a daily basis and order items as required
- Respond to any legitimate request for information and/or purchase requirement that falls in the scope of this position
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of supplies/materials.
- Maintain accurate inventory count and ensure organization of all received stock.
- Negotiate supply agreements
- Create, issue and manage requests for proposal
- Maintain purchasing reports
- Maintain central purchasing filing system
- Attend production meetings as required
**What you bring to the table**
Strong Computer skills - Excel and Word, Microsoft Office Suite
- A bachelor’s degree or college diploma in business administration, commerce or economics is required or several years of experience as a purchaser in a manufacturing
- Purchasing in a manufacturing environment
- Experience negotiating terms and conditions with contacts and suppliers.
- Good interpersonal, communication, negotiation and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills are required
- Extra hours may be required during fiscal year or months end.
- _**Must comply with Company’s Health and Safety Procedures and the provisions and regulations in the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act.**_
**Skills and Education**
- Bachelor’s Degree or College Diploma in business administration, commerce or economics.
- 2 to 5 years’ experience as a Purchaser in a Manufacturing environment.
**Salary information: Salary is dependent on experience.**
Previous experience is required, but we are open to individuals with previous transferable skills such as:

**Salary**: $50,000.00-$52,000.00 per year
