Material Planner

**Position Summary**:

- As Material Planner, you will have the overall responsibility to ensure that the supply of materials meet the production schedule and minimum stock levels to ensure operational and production continuity. _

**_ Duties and Responsibilities:_**
- _ Schedule the supply of materials/components to meet production requirements and minimum stock levels_
- _ Day-to-day order management and management of deliveries_
- _ Take follow up actions in relation to material shortages that affect production_
- _ Implement all processes to agreed standards and targets and support continuous improvement initiatives and identify areas of improvement _
- _Maintain inventory records (daily reporting of material receipts and book out of parts). Assist with cycle count documentation and annual physical count activities._
- _ Execute reports in Jonas and excel to facilitate reporting of information_
- _ Participates in the set up different purchasing programs for supply management, such as Kanban, JIT, VMI_
- _ Adheres to safe work practices and company safety rules at all times _
- _Coordinate logistics activities _
- _Other duties as assigned_

**_ Qualifications:_**
- _ A post-secondary degree or diploma, preferably in a Business or Materials Control related field or equivalency._
- _ Experience in a manufacturing environment. _
- _Good understanding supply chain processes and their interdependencies_
- _ Able to deal with competing priorities and manage time appropriately and independently _
- _Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel_
- _ Self-starter, capable of identifying the need for, and taking, independent action._
- _ Strong interpersonal, problems solving and planning skills are required._

Term, Hours of Work and Compensation:_**:

- This position is a contract position with possible extension._
- The role is entitled to 4% vacation pay and paid statutory holidays._
