Dillon’s **Communities and Environment** technical group is looking for a **Waste Management Planner **to join our multidisciplinary team of professionals. You will have the opportunity to work on new and exciting projects while providing clients with a fully integrated and superior customer experience.
At Dillon, we operate as one team. This position is available in our Dillon **Toronto (North York or Downtown), Guelph, **or** Hamilton** offices.
**Responsibilities**:
**What your day will look like**
**Waste Management Planning**
- Assistance in solid waste projects related to waste diversion programs, waste management planning and approvals, and waste management facilities
- Perform assessments, calculations, data collection, and data analysis to support planning and engineering activities.
- Assist project managers and liaise with waste management specialists, engineers, environmental scientists, and others on a variety of multidisciplinary design teams (including project engineers, planners, biologists, technologists, etc.).
- Field work related to construction observation, data collection, and inspection.
- Coordinate and manage project tasks, budgets and schedules.
**Learning & Development**

Qualifications:
**What you will need to succeed**
- A degree in engineering, environmental sciences or planning.
- 2 - 5 years of experience in solid waste management, preferably within a consulting environment.
**Experience**:
- Strong verbal and written communications skills, and keen attention to detail.
- Aptitude to learn.
- Ability to understand and work with relevant provincial and federal environmental legislation, environmental policies, codes and standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint is an asset
