- Provides consulting services in support of LOB and Enterprise needs as well as expertise in Market Data and industry trends
- Liaises with stakeholders to understand problems and opportunities enabling the organization to meet its goals by understanding business vision, objectives and KPIs
- As Primary Lead, liaise with vendors to address Market Data related issues
- Cultivates relationships with business leaders, representatives, and other business partners, including vendors, to ensure that requirements are accepted and well-known
- Leads Market Data Strategy by understanding business processes, policies, information and information systems. Builds exceptional relationships with business partners and T&O colleagues. Ensures the requirements and solutions align to a real business need, are approved by all relevant stakeholders, and meet quality standards.
- Participates in strategy and planning sessions as Consultant to business partners (Multi-year planning, annual planning
- Provides thought leadership prior to evolved ideas, promotes new processes and methodologies, including emerging technologies, with the flexibility to align to the unique requirements of the project teams and deliverables.
- Provides analytical support and insights to identified/assigned user areas in support of expense management and budgeting
- Accountable for monthly and quarterly detailed reporting for vendor relationships assigned.
- Identifies and leads problem resolution for complex issues at all levels
- Able to present and communicate at all levels within IT and across business units
- Analyzes trends to proactively prevent problems.
- Provides leadership in cost avoidance or optimization through identifying consolidation/lower cost supplier opportunities.
- Manages complexity across business value, technology, and interaction models.
- Develops, recommends, and employs productivity aids in all aspects of assignments to accelerate delivery.
- Serves as liaison to the business for contract negotiations with assigned vendors
- Develops and champions best practices within area of expertise, while comparing to other fluid parts of the business.
- Supports Communication across multiple stakeholders.
- Identifies opportunities to strengthen the capability at BMO, such as: sharing expertise, mentoring employees, building communities of practice and networks across technology.
- Stays abreast of industry technical and business trends through benchmarking and/or participation in professional associations (FISD).
- Participates in industry efforts or peer initiatives to address common concerns affecting Market Data Management
- **Qualifications**:
- Generally 7 to 10 years of work experience in Market Data or the Financial Service Industry
- Expert level of knowledge in domain (vendors, exchanges, services, industry trends etc.)
- Expertise in Index licensing an asset
- Strong command of MS Excel
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to interact with senior management
- Ability to maintain a high level of delivery focused commitment
- Ability to learn and adapt quickly, with a willingness to get involved and take action on issues when necessary
- Advanced analytical skills
- Organized, methodical with close attention to detail
- Knowledge of SharePoint.
- Understanding of industry standards and standard business capabilities
- Prior vendor relationship management an asset
- Possesses strong problem solving
- Possesses excellent partnering, communication, and negotiation skills.
- FIA certification preferable
- Expert use of MDM an assets
