**POSITION OVERVIEW**

This is a 12 week contract role. This contract may be extended, upon approval, and could turn into a full-time role, depending on campus requirements. Please note this position is **Monday to Friday, 6.5 hours per day. Flexibility of shift day to day is a necessity.**

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Participate in the age appropriate environment rating scale annually
- Interacts with Ministry staff and other regulators around licensing requirements for inspection purposes
- Follows the Centre’s Quality Assurance Cycle when using program evaluation tools
- Provides positive social experiences
- Facilitates and understanding of a variety of cultures and value systems
- Provides a physically safe and emotionally supportive environment
- Implement emergency procedures
- Attending to the child’s physical needs
- Actively participates in required training sessions within Childventures curriculum and community sponsored professional development
- Provide age-appropriate programs to enhance the children’s cognitive, physical, social and emotional development.
- Prepare weekly program plans meeting all requirements of curriculum
- Daily observations
- Maintain child records

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Previous experience in an Early Childhood Educator position is an asset
- Early Childhood education including:

- RECE Registered Early Childhood Educator
- ECE Early Childhood Educator
- CYW Child Youth Worker
- CYC Child and Youth Care
- ECA Early Childhood Assistant
- EA Educational Assistant

**MINISTRY REQUIREMENTS**:

- 2 Step TB Skin Test
- Updated Immunizations (Tetanus, MMR)
- Vulnerable Sector Check
- Standard First Aid & CPR Level C
