Program Coordinator- Transitional Housing

**This position is a 37.5 hour per week position working evenings and weekend hours from Tuesday to Saturday from 11:00am-7:00pm. This position may be exposed to emotionally difficult events such as medical distress and high stressful situations where resiliency and stress tolerance is essential. This position is not eligible for a hybrid work arrangement.**

**WHAT YOU'LL DO**:
- Provides coaching and is the main contact person for coordination of program day-day activities during the evening and weekend hours.
- Leads, directs, and makes decisions when appropriate and/or support Transitional Housing Team to do so on behalf of clients. This includes, collaborating with Hospital clinical teams and taking lead with other community networks and resources.
- Acts as a liaison across shifts (evenings and weekends) and team members to ensure consistent service delivery and contribute to a positive working environment.
- Partners with clients to navigate questions, concerns, and facilitates conflict resolution when issues arise between clients.
- Maintains scheduling system in collaboration with the supervisor and assists with training and coaching new staff on program policies and procedures.
- Partners with the supervisor with program data audits and ensures data entry is accurate and reports any inconsistencies to the supervisor in a timely manner.
- Ensures the privacy and confidentiality of all clients by not confirming the identity of residents, and monitoring the admission of guests, visitors, vendors, contractors, and authorities as required.
- Acts as a role model to the team demonstrating professionalism, effective conflict management skills and transparent and respectful communication.

- Use all safety materials, equipment, devices, and tools required to safely perform work in alignment with YW’s role and task requirements.
- Actively participate in the implementation of the National Standard for Psychological Health & Safety and integrate into all work practices and interactions with colleagues.
**WHAT YOU'LL BRING**:
- A clear Police Information Check, including a Vulnerable Sector Search, and an Intervention Record Check is required upon commencement of employment.
- Bachelor’s degree in addictions counselling, Social Work, Human Services, or related field. Other educational backgrounds considered with related experience.
- Active registration with a relevant professional association is an asset.
- 3-5 years of experience working with vulnerable women populations experiencing complex mental health, addictions, family violence, trauma, and homelessness.
- At least 1 year of experience leading a team, formally or informally, is an asset.
- An understanding of addictions including withdrawal management, stages of change, trauma informed care and recovery-oriented systems of care.
- Case Management expertise, knowledge and skills in crisis intervention, supportive counselling, and conflict resolution is required.
- ASIST, NVCI, Brain Story, First Aid / CPR and Naloxone Training are required.
