The People and Culture Manager is a mature, reliable, individual who is passionate about the hospitality industry and providing elevated experiences to our guests and team members alike. The P&C Manager is enthusiastic and, not only understands and believes in Pearle culture, but is a regular champion of it among their peers and within the community. They are well-respected, level-headed, and trustworthy, able to sustain the utmost level of confidentiality as required. The P&C Manager is incredibly well organized with exceptional time management skills. They are confidant and assertive, able to manage competing priorities on a regular basis and keep a pulse on the property’s heartbeat. The P&C Manager assists with all aspects of the HR function, providing full cycle recruitment, orientation, health and safety and employee development. They regularly meet with their fellow P&C Managers at Pearle Hospitality properties to share ideas and best practices and are consistently developing their own skills through various learning opportunities. **Key Accountabilities** HUMAN RESOURCES/ RELATIONSHIPS - Inspires trust, creating a safe environment for Team Members to voice concerns, discuss development goals, or share confidential matters, etc - Can identify when to address any concerns or issues and when to seek further guidance or direction before responding to an employee - Identifies areas of opportunity within culture, and works with GM & Leadership team towards enhancements - Supports programs and training to promote health and wellness in the property - Actively lead any Workplace Harassment Investigations or seek support for external resources to ensure timely investigation and the compliance with all legislative requirements - Actively supports and participates when needed, in employee performance management: ensure performance reviews are carried out in compliance with Pearle Hospitality’s policy and in a timely manner; follow progressive discipline guidelines, ensure feedback conversations are executed, even when difficult - Understands the importance of providing consistent standards of service & ensure the standards are followed by the entire team while continually raising the bar to provide the very best guest experience - Fosters positive interactions, taking any and all appropriate actions to respond to team members & management team RECRUITMENT/ONBOARDING - Leads the consistent & effective attraction & recruitment process for your property including the development of engaging job postings, coordinating hiring events, assisting with screening, interviewing and reference check as needed - Leads a successful New Hire Process from Offer Letter to Orientation to ensure each new hire has a positive & engaging introduction to your property and providing the tools they need to be successful - Schedule 30-day check-ins with new hires and action any additional training needed TRAINING - Organize professional training events as directed by need and in coordination with P&C Manager - Work with department heads to ensure new hire training journeys are completed - Review annual development plans and assist with coordination in executing plans HEALTH & SAFETY - Provides a safe working and guest environment to reduce the risk of injury and accidents - Actively engages or leads the JHSC ensuring all legislative requirements are met with regards to property and training - Completes accident reports promptly in the event that a guest or employee is injured to minimize WSIB penalties - Effectively manage all requests for accommodations and return to work programs PAYROLL/ADMINISTRATIVE - Ensures the timely & accurate processing of payroll bi-weekly after the completion of Management team adjustments - Enter new hires in Payworks, Clubcore & Marriott systems - Work with managers to ensure timely changes of team member information INTERNAL COMMUNICATION - Collaborates with management team and HO team to develop and execute on monthly social media content calendar with regards to property "happenings" - Prepares for and attends the Monthly Leadership meeting - creates agenda and captures accurate minutes and distributes action items - Manage timely and engaging content on Clubcore **Skills & Experience**: - CHRP Designation an asset - 3 Year Human Resource Generalist experience - Hotel experience required - Food & Beverage experience is an asset - Experience leading and managing dynamic teams - A positive and ‘can-do’ attitude with the ability to work on an array of projects - Strong relationship building skills - Excellent attention to detail - Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization **Advantages to being part of The Pearle Hotel & Spa Team**: - Competitive wages - Marriott Discounts - Discounts at all Pearle Hospitality properties (restaurants, hotels and spas) - Training and Development to support personal &
