**Duties**:
- Lead, coordinate, and empower a team of technical staff.
- Coordinate, collaborate, and negotiate with a variety of divisions, business units, groups and the public on capital project design and delivery and support the team as required.
- Utilize engineering knowledge and judgment to make sound decisions and solve problems.
- Demonstrate a capacity for precision and flexibility for innovation.
- Cultivate a collaborative, citizen-centric culture that encourages early engagement of interest holders.
- Build strategic partnerships and collaborative environments that facilitate sound and timely decision making and process development.
- Demonstrate a capacity for accuracy and detailed work with strong communication skills.
**Qualifications**
- You must have a degree in Engineering and at least 6 years of relevant professional engineering experience obtained after receiving your P. Eng. designation and a current licensure as a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) complete with practicing status OR licensure and practicing status by the first day of work. - An understanding of traffic engineering standards and practices in Calgary for Signals, Detours, Streetlights, and Traffic Control and Parking is essential.
- A valid Class 5 Driver’s License (or provincial equivalent) and access to a personal vehicle for business use OR the ability to obtain a City of Calgary operator’s permit is required.
- Knowledge of emerging traffic design practices from other jurisdictions would be considered an asset.
- Knowledge of construction practices would also be considered an asset.
- Must be able to develop and maintain an effective team environment.
- Demonstrated strengths in problem solving, project management, conflict resolution and strategic partnerships.
**Salary and benefits**:
Compensation: Engineering Level F $103,584 - 158,650 per annum
