MHBC is seeking a full-time **Planning and Design Technician** to join our team at our Kitchener office, who will contribute to delivering a positive, unique and exceptional experience for each of our clients.

**Your Role and Responsibilities**:
As a Planning and Design Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting our projects by leveraging your creativity and technical expertise to deliver outstanding results for our clients.

Your key responsibilities will include:

- Developing conceptual design materials, including sketches, site plans, subdivision plans, 3D massing models and realistic renderings.
- Assisting in preparing report figures, graphics, and exhibits for planning reports, urban design briefs, presentations, and tribunal hearings.
- Using GIS software to create maps, prepare visibility analyses, update Official Plan and Zoning By-law schedules.
- Assist in field data collection and post-processing of digital information.
- Collaborating on a wide variety of urban design and land use planning projects.

**What You Bring**:
We are looking for a Planning and Design Technician with the following qualifications:

- A related degree or diploma from a recognized college or university.
- A portfolio showcasing your design creativity and computer drafting skills.
- Experience in a planning, urban design, computer graphics or similar work environment.
- Experience interpreting zoning by-laws/municipal design standards, engineering standards, etc.
- Knowledge of site plan and subdivision design is required.
- Experience with Aggregate Site Plans is considered an asset.
- Proficiency in:

- AutoCAD (release 2018 or later)
- Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign
- 3D modelling software, such as Google Sketchup or similar software
- Membership in CACPT and/or other professional organizations is preferred.
