**POSITION PURPOSE**
Reporting to the Projects Manager, ITS Project Management Office (PMO), is responsible for leading the delivery of small to medium size information systems programs and projects, business improvement initiatives and support working with ITS teams for project planning and deployment of products in the organization; researching best practices; contributing to strategic planning, project coordination and various reporting activities

**MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Coordinates technology related work led by the ITS Branch and other groups ensuring consistency with the Department information systems strategy, architecture, technology asset standards and impacts on operations
- Provides guidance to Department staff on technology project issues and monitors project schedules and budgets; monitors the implementation of technology related projects and support work.
- Coordinates specific assigned systems development and implementation activities including the preparation of the user requirements definition, systems analysis, general and details design documents, development prototyping and implementation
- Analyses user requirements, generates alternative approaches to information systems design, prepares system prototypes for user consultation, and contributes to the design, development, testing, modification and implementation of systems.
- Recommends and implements future systems to enhance Department productivity.
- Takes lead role in the development of business process improvements and related systems and technology infrastructure; optimizes existing business processes to ensure efficiency and effectiveness
- Develops, makes recommendations and implements business process redesign including identifying Department processes which are ineffective or inefficient; researches best practices and modern information technology; participates with internal and external stakeholders to effect improvements.
- Coordinates introduction of technology and services across the Department
- Coordinates and monitors integration of business processes with new technologies across the Department
- Participates in planning and formulation Department strategic business improvement and systems initiatives for service improvements
- Participates in the preparation of budget projections for inclusion in the Region’s budget process and coordinates Department input to the Region’s strategy
- Assists the Projects Manager to develop and monitor Department strategic, program and budget processes for business improvements and related systems and ensure processes are well executed.
- Prepares reports, memos, letters, guidelines and other correspondence and conducts presentations to meet the Department’s requirements.
- Liaises with ITS Branch and Departmental staff to share information regarding initiatives and other best practices and to ensure that services delivered meet policies, procedures and standards.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Successful completion of a Community College Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline or approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum three (3) years demonstrated experience with information systems project management.
- Leadership skills to manage multiple projects and cross-functional project teams.
- Experience in developing business plans and budgets for information systems programs
- Experience with the assessment of information technology against Corporate and Departmental needs and making recommendations on solutions that support Corporate strategies.
- Knowledge of and demonstrated ability in corporate core competencies including customer service, communication, team work, initiative/self-management and accountability, and flexibility/adaptability.
