Human Resources Generalist

**Duties and Tasks**
**General HR**:
- Verify, process and maintain all documentation relating to HR activities such as Employee relations, Disciplinary actions, performance evaluations
- As required, creates, modifies, edits, and proofreads policies, procedures, employment agreements, and other HR-related documents.
- Leads, executes, or participates in HR projects, training, programs.
- Support the coordination of regional rewards / recognition programs;
- Maintain and update employee information, attendance records, reconcile timesheets, and leave requests.
- Oversight of the organization's Occupational Health and Safety program.
- Mitigate and escalate employee relation issues while adhering to Canadian Employment Standards and company policies.
- Provides guidance and advice, and counsels on performance and HR matters to supervisors and employees. Escalates issues of greater concern to leadership or where appropriate, outside counsel
- Help plan and coordinate Human Resources initiatives with regional leadership;
- Conduct workplace investigations, document, and facilitate corrective outcomes, where necessary;
- Other tasks as may be necessary to support business and people related needs.
**Recruiting**:
- In collaboration with hiring managers, leads and executes recruitment activities, including job skill assessment, job evaluation, job descriptions, job postings, the selection framework, the processing and screening of applicants, the preparation of interview templates and participation in interviews (as required), reference checking and structuring / negotiating employment contracts.
- Build networks and relationships with local colleges and universities.
**Training**:
- Plan employee engagement events and training.
- Coordinates Safety Meetings
- Support the coordination of HR programs such as HR events, company wide meetings, Planning of special events etc.
- Provide support in developing health and safety programs
- Conducts exit interviews, identifies key issues, and trends and makes recommendations as appropriate.
- Manage multiple payrolls on a biweekly basis for a growing company.
- Maintains and ensures the security of files and records for staff resources of the company.
- Create and plan department specific training programs
- Solid understanding of employment legislation including applicable Employment Standards Act and the Human Rights Code within Ontario
- Ability to draft professional level correspondence
- Strong ability to work on multiple deliverables at one time while remaining responsive to the business and maintaining communication with relevant stakeholders
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and meet deadlines
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality in all aspects of work
- Experience assessing people and business-related issues and developing strategies to resolve solutions
**Qualifications**:
- Degree or graduate in HR Professional programs.
- 2+ years of progressive HR Experience.
- MS Office tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal relation skills; ability to establish credibility with stakeholders.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; understand, speak, read, and write in English language. French would be an asset.
- Strong team player with a positive friendly demeanor who likes to take initiative and build strong professional relationships.
- Experience in recruitment.
**Job Type**: Permanent
Pay: $55,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
