** Essential Job Functions**:
- Approve in-process products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and communicating required adjustments to shop foreman
- Approve finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, returning products for re-work, confirming re-work
- Documentation of inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizing re-work, and inputting data into quality database
- Organize NDE requirements daily and book NDE contractors, as required
- View and interpret X-Ray film and NDE reports
- Witness weld tests and record results
- Witness hydro tests of spooling/bridles/vessels
- Assist with preparing for Post Weld Heat Treat (PWHT) and review PWHT charts
- Complete P&ID checks
- Maintain records for Mill Test Report (MTR) to ensure material traceability and verification
- Track material heat numbers, pull MTRs, and put together tech packages
- Track and approve costs for all NDE services
- Taking care of QA/QC documents of the entire project including certificates, calibration, test results, inspection requests, non-compliance reports (NCR), materials delivered and other QA/QC documents
- Responsible for the closure NCRs
- Evaluate the qualifications of welders regarding the activities assigned
- Perform, support and participate in all the internal/external audits.
- Ensure that Welding Procedures are followed and assist with the development of new procedures
- Create weld procedure summaries
- Follow safety protocol, including wearing the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Assist third party inspectors while on site
**Key Role Qualifications & Experience Required**:
- CWB Level 1
- Manufacturing experience is an asset
- Post-secondary education in Mechanical Engineering or Quality Assurance applicable to shop fabrication / welding, journeyman tradesperson or similar experience
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Comfortable lifting, bending, twisting, walking, etc.
- Accurate measuring skills
- High attention to detail,
- Strong Knowledge of ASME Code is an asset
- Understanding of drawings and weld symbols
- Experience with different quality systems
- Knowledge of different welding processes & techniques
- Be well organized & able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Must have a valid driver’s license
