The Health and Safety team is looking for a Bilingual Administrative Associate to provide on-site and remote support to retail, office and distribution centres. Do you have an interest in health and safety and risk reduction? The Health and Safety Administrative Associate is responsible for reviewing and a responding to day-to-day health and safety requests and inquiries. This role requires strong communication skills that will enable you to interact productively with all levels of the organization. We are looking for flexible team players, that can monitor and execute without constant supervision.
This role allows for 10-20% telework, and will be based out of Giant Tiger's corporate office at 2480 Walkley Road, Ottawa, Ontario.

**Bilingual Health and Safety Administrative Associate, Job Highlights**:

- Investigate and address general health & safety issues
- Assist managers with accident reporting and return to work programs
- Assist with health and safety program updates and special projects
- Maintain health and safety program elements at Home Office (postings, first aid kits, communication boards)
- Co-Chair Health and Safety Committee meetings and follow up on action items.
- Perform monthly workplace inspections including hazard analysis, written reports, and follow up actions
- Create content for internal newsletter
- Conduct office ergonomic assessments
- Coordinate employee health, safety and wellness events (training, wellness days, flu shot clinic, lunch & learn).
- Research and recommend cost-effective health and safety controls
- Operate machinery and equipment safely

**Bilingual Health and Safety Administrative Associate, Key Qualifications**:

- Bilingual (English, French) is required;
- Post-secondary education in Health and Safety, Human Resources Business Administration (or related program)
- Knowledge of health and safety legislation
- 1-2 years of relevant experience
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office)
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work with reports and make suggestions/recommendations based on available data
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication skills to be able to interact with all levels of the organization
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task within time constraints
