**Salary**: $3,339.00 to $4,493.32 bi-weekly ($87,148 - $117,276/year)

Within the Consumer, Registry, and Strategic Services Division of Service Alberta and Red Tape Reduction, the Consumer Services Branch ensures that that the Minister's Mandate, Ministry strategic and business plan goals drive outcomes to ensure consumers are protected and a fair marketplace for businesses through effective legislative and regulatory frameworks.

As the Manager, Regulation and Administration you will play a key role in administrative decision-making and administrative enforcement of the Consumer Protection Act; administration of business licensing, charitable registration, and security claims; coordination of legislative responsibilities for relevant Consumer Services delegated regulatory bodies; completion of a significant number of action requests for Minister, MLAs and Premier; and providing key advice and assistance to the ADM, DM and Minister on a variety of consumer protection issues under tight timelines.

Reporting to the Director, Consumer Programs, you will manage a diverse group of professional and administrative staff in the Regulation and Administration Unit.

**Your key areas of responsibility include**:

- Directing and managing the Regulation and Administration unit to address the needs of Consumer Services with respect to administrative enforcement, licensing, and registration.
- Providing oversight for Statute Administrators responsible for specific regulations and for the operations of the Business Licensing Unit.
- Maintaining effective working relationships with stakeholders (internal and external) towards achieving the departmental goals.
- Providing critical resources to the Branch including project management leadership and research. In addition, the position is responsible for ensuring services are provided within the framework of the Government of Alberta goals, general policies and principles, the Department Business Plan and the Branch Operational Plan.
- Promoting ongoing training and learning opportunities for staff to develop skills and abilities that are needed to perform their duties as well as personal development.

**Qualifications**:
University graduation in Public Policy, Public Administration, Business, or Law or in a related field, supplemented by four years progressively responsible experience in a diverse regulatory environment.
