**Sankoff Criminal Law** is not your average law firm. We focus primarily on criminal appellate work and assisting other lawyers on complex legal matters. In addition, we are a knowledge resource business that provides advice and analysis on the criminal law. Through**Criminal Defence Essentials**, we also create legal seminars, case alerts, the Golden Thread e-magazine, and we are in the process of creating a whole range of other resources for the busy defence lawyer. The successful applicant will conduct legal research, assist Peter Sankoff on files, and also do a range of trial and appellate work.

He is the country’s leading provider of criminal law materials, including hundreds of hours of lessons designed to help people learn that are available for free on Youtube.

**Attributes**
- Have a law degree from a recognized Canadian university or NCA qualification;
- Live in Calgary or Edmonton, or be willing to relocate;
- Have a passion for criminal law;
- Have exceptional writing skills;
- Have strong legal research skills;
- Be motivated by excellence;
- Have a demonstrated strong academic performance;
- Dynamic, outgoing personality;
- Are not allergic to or terrified of dogs (we have an office dog)

Being vegan, or having taken an Animals and the Law course is an advantage, as is fluency in a second language.
