The Recruitment and Retention Specialist, under the direction of the immediate supervisor, is responsible for delivering all recruitment and retention needs of the Sarnia ON and London ON branches. This will be achieved through the development and execution of local and community recruitment strategy based on various sourcing strategies. The Recruitment and Retention Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring the branch has the right mix of regulated and non-regulated caregivers to meet the branch staffing needs and objectives. The Recruitment and Retention Specialist is responsible for helping to create a positive work environment for all employees, focusing on team building, engagement initiatives, and interactive training. They will also be supportive to both staff and management during meetings, performances and everyday interactions when necessary.

This position is Full Time, Monday to Friday, Full Time Benefits, Company RRSP Contribution, Paid Training and Paid Time Off. This position is based out of the Sarnia ON branch with the expectation of traveling to the London ON branch for interviews, job fairs and events.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Collaborate with branch Area Director and/or Care Manager to develop and execute a solid recruitment strategy in order to meet the branches volume of business.
- Facilitate the process to post vacancies in online venues, organizations and other venues as deemed appropriate.
- Lead the in-person interview process to efficiently and effectively fill open positions in both Sarnia and London.
- Network through local contacts, association membership, conferences, educational institution, social media and active employees.
- Represent and promote Bayshore’s brand and value proposition at external recruitment events in a positive and professional manner.
- Responsible for new hire administration completion in alignment with recruitment priorities.
- Align with the national diversity policy and adapt HR strategies in order to integrate this into sourcing and recruitment strategy.
- Extend offers and negotiate (where appropriate) in alignment with the branches needs.
- Monitor retention of new hires and understand reasons for turnover in order to incorporate this in the recruitment/retention strategy.
- Responsible for team building and engagement while planning team events, parties and interactive training.
- Ensure a high level of employee satisfaction through proactive support and active listening
- Assist in addressing employee concerns and providing solutions
- Bring new ways to organize the team to give back to the community while supporting existing and new employees.
- Monitor and track years of service gifts and initiating other employee incentives.
- Participate in quality activities and continuous improvement initiatives in keeping with the company's Quality Management System.
- Participate in ongoing internal and/or external continuing education activities.
- Adhere to Bayshore Policies and Procedures.
- Participates in proactive Health & Safety activities while performing all duties. Is responsible to notify immediate Supervisor of any Health & Safety risks or concerns.
- Maintains confidentiality of client and corporate information and discusses same only with appropriate Bayshore personnel.
- Complete other tasks as requested.

**REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS**

The Recruitment and Retention Specialist will report directly to the Human Resources Manager or designate who is responsible for the appropriate branch(s).

Job Qualification

Education

Post-secondary education in related field, or equivalent combination of education and work experiences. Human Resources diploma or in progress is preferred.

Experience

Minimum 2+ years of Human Resources and/or varied Administration work experience. Previous Recruitment experience preferred with a focus on retention; having a focus on health care would be considered an asset. Experienced user of technology including MS Office, Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), and human resource information systems (HRIS).
