About the job:

Kent is looking for a Sourcing Specialist to support procurement operations, vendor coordination, and the development of material requisitions for the Sarnia project. This role will be seconded into our client's operations at their Sarnia office, working alongside the owner team while employed by Kent.

Skills and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

Procurement Coordination

  • Support procurement and sourcing activities for assigned material packages
  • Prepare, track, and issue RFQs to vendors
  • Assist in bid tabulation and procurement assessments

Vendor Interface

  • Interface with vendors for technical and commercial clarifications
  • Track deliverable timelines and ensure compliance

Documentation Management

  • Maintain procurement logs, document registers, and supporting documentation
  • Ensure procurement records remain audit-ready

Stakeholder Communication

  • Provide updates to the Procurement Lead and Engineering team
  • Escalate vendor issues when needed

Reporting

  • Contribute to weekly procurement progress reports
  • Maintain documentation of procurement decisions

In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.

Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:

Knowledge/Qualifications/Training/Certification:

  • Diploma or degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field
  • 5+ years procurement/sourcing experience
  • Familiarity with RFQ workflows and procurement documentation systems

Communication

  • Excellent command of the English language in both oral and written communication and skills.

Behavior/Core Competencies

  • Organized, detail-oriented, proactive
