**Position Summary**:
This position provides timely and accurate payroll services in accordance to Revenue Canada and Ministry of Health guidelines. Under the direction of the Manager of Payroll Services, it provides support and guidance to other payroll staff and coordinates related activites to meet departmental goals.
**Qualifications**:
- Grade 12 diploma plus completion of a 2-year college diploma in accounting and/or business studies
- Completion Payroll Compliance Practitioner or Certified Payroll Manager through Canadian Payroll Association
- 5-years related experience in a payroll environment, preferably in a hospital setting
- Familiar with vacation plans, sick plans, corporate and Canada pension plans, Revenue Canada guidelines, Employment Standards, WSIB, Collective Agreements
- Strong computer skills and knowledge of payroll systems and programs including MS Access, HBOC, Peoplesoft, Infinium (HR/Payroll), Adobe Acrobat, Snaglt, Cognos Reporting
- Intermediate skill required for MS Word, Excel and spelling
- Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully, in person, by telephone, and through written correspondence, focusing on excellence in customer service
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations for monthly remittances to EHT, Revenue Canada, HOOPP, general ledger, account reconciliation
- Maintain excellent interpersonal relationships while handling multiple tasks, frequent interruptions and stressful situations
- Demonstrated accuracy in data entry skills
