Under the direction of the Payroll Manager, coordinate and participate in day-to-day payroll activities; participate in preparation, maintenance, processing, analysis and auditing of manual and automated payroll activities, information, and reports; ensure accuracy and completeness of payroll transactions; ensure payroll tax related notices/inquiries are handled promptly and correctly.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES**:

- Oversee and audit daily operations of the Payroll; research, evaluate and ensure that payroll issues and discrepancies are resolved in a proper and timely manner; and maintain and update set up in HR/Payroll System (UltiPro).
- Process and evaluate payroll tax annuities; work with employees, external agencies, and representatives of tax related representatives in processing related transactions; verify proper record-keeping and compliance with current CRA tax laws. Reviews and verifies documentation of all tax notices/inquiries.
- Participate in running weekly/semi-monthly/biweekly payrolls.

**ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS**:

- Principles and practices involved in payroll administration.
- Applicable tax laws, codes, regulations, policies and procedures.
- Tax withholding, voluntary deductions and employee benefits.
- Preparation, maintenance, verification, auditing and processing of payroll records and reports.
- Proper record storage.
- Principles and practices of supervision and training.
- Oral and written communication skills.
- Interpersonal skills including patience and courtesy.

**ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS**:

- Knowledge of UKG system is preferred but not necessary.
- Canadian Payroll Association membership would be an asset but not required.

**AMOUNT OF EXPERIENCE REQUIRED**:

- 1-3 years payroll administration experience.

**EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS**:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.

Pay: From $45,000.00 per year
